E.g., returning to work or school. She is familiar with breastfeeding equipment, such as breast pump and other supplies that are helpful to breast feeding mothers and babies.

The art of traditional Japanese breast massage

Massage has been used extensively and effectively during the childbearing period. Massage of the lactation breasts is common in many parts of the world and is used to stimulate milk production, to promote drainage and to relieve engorged breasts. Massaging the mothers back to relieve discomfort from engorgement or to relax her if she has difficulty letting down her milk is an acupressure technique that has been recommended for years. For example, from the base of the mothers neck to the bottom of her shoulder blades on both side of her spine is one of simple but effective method of breast massage.

Breast massage is popular in Japan, where new parents and healthcare providers believe by massaging the connective tissue and the ducts effectively increases in the milk supply, relieve engorgement of the breasts and plugged ducts. Also, an abrupt weaning can cause mastitis and to prevent this breast massage is also highly recommended. The technique of breast massage requires special training, skill, knowledge and experiences.
